Pınar cheese varieties now on the shelves of Chinese markets

Delivering the produce of Turkish farmers to over 25 countries, Pınar continues to grow its exports. On a year over year export increase of 4% in 2020, Pınar has start taking part in the Chinese market with "Pınar Labne", “Pınar Beyaz” and “Pınar Süzme” products.

Pınar Süt General Manager Gürkan Hekimoğlu commented that, “Our products are not only present on the shelves, but also at popular online stores. We intend for China to become fond of Turkish cheese.”

Pınar products are being introduced to China, one of the world’s leading dairy product importers. Meeting 19% of dairy product export of Turkey and reaching 25 countries worldwide, Pınar has taken its first step into China with Pınar Labne, Pınar Beyaz and Pınar Süzme Peynir branded products. While the pandemic continues to impact the global economy, Pınar Süt continues to introduce the products of Turkish farmers abroad, thus, contributing to the economy of Turkey. Underlining the challenging conditions arising from the pandemic, Pınar Süt General Manager Gürkan Hekimoğlu said that, “Despite all the difficulties experienced, we have achieved 4% export growth compared to last year. Our export turnover was at around $38 million in the first 10 months of 2020. In the last quarter of the year, we succeeded in entering China, one of the world’s largest dairy product importers. And now, Chinese consumers will consume the dairy products of Pınar Süt.”

Underlining that they had entered the Chinese market with high hopes, Gürkan Hekimoğlu noted that, “Along with the supermarket channel, we are also present on online shopping sites that are effectively used in China. We aim to introduce the delicious products of Pınar Dairy, pioneer of Dairy Sector in Turkey to even more people in China, bridging this geography with our new offerings.”

We aim to contribute to the economy

Stating that they had entered the Chinese market based upon long-term planning and market research, Hekimoğlu stated that, “We have entered the Chinese market, one of the largest importers of dairy products with $6.4 billion imports, with Pınar branded cheese varieties. We are closely monitoring the demand for milk powder in China’s industrial channel, along with that of cheese. We aim to contribute to the Turkish economy with the share we intend to capture in this strategically potential market.”
