Pınar International Children’s Painting Contest Turns 40!
Having being held continuously since 1981 and turned 40 this year, Pınar International Children’s Painting Contest, started with the theme of ‘I Love Nature, I Take Care of My Environment’. The theme of this year’s contest was determined by the children in the light of the data obtained from the sociological evaluation report of the painting contest conducted in cooperation with Anadolu University last year within the scope of the 39th International Pınar Children’s Painting Contest.
Having being held continuously for 40 years by Pınar with the aim of contributing to the physical, mental and social development of children, applications for the Pınar International Children’s Painting Contest were started to be taken. The 40th Pınar International Children’s Painting Contest is organized under the theme of “I Love Nature, I Take Care of My Environment”, where paintings that color the endless imaginations of children will compete. The contest, for which the applications of children between the ages of 6 and 14 are accepted, consists of 7 regions of Turkey, special education and practice schools and international (TRNC, Germany and Azerbaijan) categories. Children determined the theme of the 40th Pınar International Children’s Painting Contest
İdil Yiğitbaşı, Pınar Süt Chairperson of the Board of Directors said; “We believe in the power and impact of the art of painting that positively affects the development of children’s self-confidence and intuition and their artistic side. With this approach, we have been a party to the dreams of our children since 1981 by organizing the longest running and widest participated painting contest in our country. We are feeling joyous to lay the groundwork for children to express their feelings, thoughts and expectations freely. We determined the subject of our contest, which we celebrate its 40th anniversary, in the light of the data obtained from the results of the ‘Sociological Research Report’ prepared in cooperation with Anadolu University within the scope of the 39th Pınar International Children’s Painting Contest by analyzing the paintings submitted last year. The most addressed theme in children’s paintings being ‘nature and human’, according to the report results, played a role in determining the theme of this year’s contest. We ensure the participation of children from all regions of Turkey and internationally from Germany, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Azerbaijan. In our contest, paintings of the children studying at Special Education and Practice Schools are evaluated in a separate category by the jury. In this way, we enable children who need special education to paint their dreams in the Special Education and Practice Schools category, which we have been actively conducting for the last 5 years. All the works participating in the contest are evaluated by esteemed jury members such as Prof. Dr. Hayri Esmer, Prof. Dr. Hüsnü Dokak and Assoc. Dr. Devabil Kara, who have devoted themselves to painting in Turkey, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Mümtaz Sağlam.”
